Champions League trophy is a symbol of the supremacy of the highest trophy in European club championships. In each year will topclubs vying for a trophy 'The Big Ear'.
This trophy was designed and created by Horst Heeren, employeesof Koch & Bergfield, a silversmith in the town of Bremen, Germany.
Trophy which replaces the previous trophy was donated by a leading French sports daily, L'Equipe. Shape of the trophy itself is somewhat similar to the European Cup trophy.

"It's exciting when you easily grasp the two handles and lift it up, andit is a positive value with a cup size like this," said Heeren.
The cost of making this trophy was not cheap. It takes 10 thousand Swiss Franc to create a trophy made of pure silver with a height of74 cm and it weighs 8.5 pound. Fixed front section lists the engraving text in French "COUPE DESCHAMPIONS EUROPEENS Clubs", which contained the same textin the previous cup. In Spanish, the trophy is nicknamed La Orejona (big ears) lookgreat grip. An announcer for ESPN's Champions League, LuisOmar Tapia, popularized the "la orejona" in the Americas. Heeren ciptaaan trophy was first awarded to Scottish club Celticafter beating Inter Milan 2-1 in the finals in 1967 aka 45 years ago. In this edition Bayern Munich and Chelsea will be keen to get it in the final at the Allianz Arena on Sunday (20/05/2012) pm dawn.
